Privacy policy

This notice explains how personal data is handled when you visit this website or contact me through its form.

Who is responsible?

Samuel Richards is responsible for the personal data described in this notice. For privacy questions or requests, email mail@samuelrichards.ch.

What information is handled?

If you use the contact form, I receive the name, email address and message you provide. The hosting systems may also process technical connection details, such as your IP address, the time of a request, the page requested and basic browser information, to deliver and protect the website.

To limit spam, the server stores a hashed form of an IP address and contact-form attempt timestamps in a temporary server file. Entries older than one hour are removed during a later rate-limit check. The form also uses a hidden anti-spam field and a session-based security token.

How is the information used?

I use contact details and message contents to read and reply to your enquiry. Technical and anti-spam information is used to operate, secure and troubleshoot the website and to limit abusive form submissions.

Cookies and website storage

The website uses a first-party session cookie to connect your browser to a server-side session. That session holds the contact form’s security token and may temporarily hold form status or entered values after submission. The cookie is set to expire when your browser session ends and is used to support the contact form, not to build an advertising profile.

Hosting and email

The website and domain email services are provided through Klixa IT GmbH infrastructure. Klixa may process technical data as needed to host the website and deliver email. Contact-form messages are sent to mail@samuelrichards.ch by email; the website does not keep a separate database of messages.

Email is not an end-to-end encrypted channel. Please do not use the form to send information that you need to keep confidential.

How long is information kept?

Contact messages are kept in the email mailbox for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any resulting follow-up. Mailbox backups and provider retention settings may also apply. Temporary anti-spam records are pruned when a later form check removes entries older than one hour. Server-log retention is managed by the hosting provider for operational and security purposes.

Your choices and rights

You may contact me to ask what personal data about you is held, or to request correction or deletion where applicable. You may also raise an objection or exercise any other rights available under applicable data-protection law. Email mail@samuelrichards.ch.

You may also contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

Changes to this notice

If the website’s data practices change, I will update this notice and its revision date.
